Video Challenge #6 – Distortions…

This week’s video is shot using my brand new Kodak Zi8 with lapel mic. And I’m happier with the quality! Unfortunately, I only learned about exporting in true HD 5 minutes ago, so I’ll do that with the next video.

This vid is a little more serious. I talk about the distorted way we (me, included) see ourselves, the ugly voices in our heads telling us we’re stupid or failures, and how to get over it. Sorta.

My only remedy for those ugly voices (monsters) in your head is to just do something. Specifically something that you want to do but the monsters say you can’t, or that you’re too stupid to pull it off, or it’s no use because you’ll just fail. Just go ahead and do something…

Dizziness, video & updating stuff…

Freddie Francis - The Brain (1962) Hey yous.

I really don’t like being seen as a flake. And I’ve definitely flaked the past few days on the video thing.

I actually had no choice in the matter. I was ordered to stay off the computer all weekend last Thursday afternoon to limit the stimulation to my already overly-stimulated brain.

Why? One word: Vertigo.

Dizzy, spinny, nauseating vertigo.

I was a good patient and laid off the computer (not so much the iPhone), and I looked like death warmed over so video wasn’t going to be a pleasant experience for anyone involved.

Dealing with intermittent chronic stuff can really put a damper on life (understatement of the year), but we do what we can, take care of our bodies the best way we know how, and pick up the pieces when we’re vaguely human again.

So, that said, my hubbie was so compassionate and gentle (yet a hardass when it came to keeping me off the computer) he bought me a Kodak Zi8 (affiliate link), the camera I’ve been lusting after for a month or so.

And that means HD video baby! Whee!

Keep an eye out this week for some HD-deliciousness. Oh, and if you have anything you want me to cover, in my last 5 videos, @ me on twitter.

Video Challenge Day 5: The Blahs

I broke rule #3 today. I have no point, but I did it. So Misty pointed out I DID have a point… Yay!

A big part of success in anything is just showing up right? So I’m showing up. I tried to make it as entertaining as possible, and it’s super-short…

Video Challenge! Number 3! Sugar Rush!

Where I’m hyped up on sugar, and explaining the 3 guidelines I plan on using for my videos:

  1. Around 3 minutes long
  2. Get the best quality out of the equipment I have
  3. Have a point

So enjoy my peppiness. I can’t guarantee  I’ll be this animated again. Unless, of course I make it a habit to eat something sugary beforehand.

Still not 100% the quality I’m looking for, but at this point I know I’ll need to get a new camera to get the clarity & color I want.

Video Challenge Day 2: Go Introverts!

Day 2! See, I did it. :)

Today’s video is a little about what the challenge is (since I don’t think I explained it well enough yesterday) and a little bit on the differences between extroverts & introverts, and the benefits of growing up in a Greek family.

Video Challenge Accepted. Tossed gauntlet.

Yeah. Video.

So here’s my very first video blog. vlog. Dude, that word just stinks.

Anywho, I’m riffing off of several others who have been exposing themselves and getting real with video.

No point actually, but I explain why I’m doing video and why I think it’s important. Eloquence be damned. ;)
