Hiyya Twitter Peoples!
So you clicked on my link on my Twitter profile eh? Want to know a bit more about me? I’d be happy to oblige.
Hi, nice to meetcha – I’m Alexia. I’m 30-ish, happily married and I’m an eclectic/scanner/renaissance soul – but you know that last part of it from my tweets, right?
I live in the suburbs in North Georgia, USA, but didn’t grow up here. My family moved a lot when I was a kid and I suppose that contributes to my near-constant wanderlust — I’m definitely not happy staying in one place physically, mentally, work-wise or otherwise for very long. So I decided to embrace my seeming lack of follow-through and craft a life that lets me do what I love to do. Now if I could only train the hubster to not roll his eyes whenever I say “I have a new idea — wanna hear??” (Picture me jumping up & down with stars in my eyes just like a 6 year old with a new toy.)
One of my favorite quotes is:
Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who are alive.
-Howard Thurman
So here’s a list of a few of things I do on and off-line these days:
- Lead Creative Explorers (aka Scanners/Renaissance Souls/Polymaths) on Expeditions to find the best way to get their stuff (aka creative genius) out into the world at The Alternating Current
- Stop people from tearing their hairs out wrestling with their WordPress sites at WPChick.
- Sell my art & craft offline & online at ARRRT! (and arrrt.artfire.com) — I make a mean 9 x 12 leather daybook.
I’m also a published artist and writer! You can find several of my art journal pages in the book 1,000 Artist Journal Pages: Personal Pages and Inspirations (1000 Series)*. And two handmade books of mine and accompanying instructions on how to make those books are in Eco Books: Inventive Projects from the Recycling Bin* by Terry Taylor.
Someone said on #followfriday that I’m an “expansive life + work thinker.” I like that. I want to encourage YOU to think beyond what you’re doing at the moment. Dream a bit. Dream as big as you want (small dreams are perfectly OK too). Then go for it.
P.S. If you need help with your dream, don’t know how to start or have some big huge nasty obstacles in your way, I love helping people with exactly that! Get back to Twitter & let’s chat (or you can even contact me using this nifty form and we can chat that way, too).
*The links to the 2 books above are my Amazon affiliate links. I get a little bit of cash for every book bought through those links.
