Today has been full of recovering from a major fail last night.
I decided to dump GoDaddy’s super-expensive, slow hosting and jump on to a new web host* – one that I’ve been recommending for my WPChick clients. Figured since Integrity is one of my core values, I’d better have the integrity to buy what I recommend.
I have 15 sites. Some are hosted for friends/relatives, but there are 15. I moved 11 of them with absolutely no problem earlier last week. Last night at around 10PM I decided to go ahead and move the rest.
Lesson: Don’t move sites to a new host when your brain is fried.
I woke up this morning to an email from a friend saying his site was down. Then I looked at my own (including this one) and just about collapsed. All that work I did last night to move FOUR WordPress powered sites was for nothing.
So I did it again. All of them. Encountered massive errors in one DB due to a stupid WordPress Plugin and nearly threw my computer out the window. But they’re all done.
