Starred Items: The Do it Already Edition

Sun PointI’m a week into The Artist’s Way with a fabulous group of ladies. We meet every Friday at a sweet little coffee house down the road.

I did my morning pages every day, took myself on an artist date to Michael’s for some window (and not-so-window) shopping for brushes.

And I found myself back at my visual journal. I missed it so much, but didn’t realize it until I was back painting and stamping and writing and drawing…

It’s been a while since I did my weekly link roundup, so here’s a quick sampling of what’s been making my brain buzz lately:

Da Linkz

You only get paid what you think you’re worth: I love Dave. In a very plantonic way of course, but he hits where it hurts (but where it’s needed). I’m in the process of re-evaluating all my services and businesses and stuff and figuring out what to do, and pricing is at the very top of it all.

The Vocation Myth: Sometimes I think that if I found that one thing that I knew I was destined to do and I did it, that life would be all rainbows and unicorns. Then I realize that it’s a worthless pursuit. Mainly because the finding takes away so much energy from the doing. And it’s in the doing that you find. Right? Besides, who said you have to have only ONE thing?

Are you your own dream zapper?: If there’s one thing that I’ve learned in the past few years is that I’m my own worst enemy. Chances are, if you’re trying to make a change and haven’t yet, you’re zapping your own dreams. Ash outlines the five biggest excuses you use to discourage yourself from chasing after your dreams.

So what’s been tickling your neurons? Leave a comment with the post that made you think the most this week.

Have a lovely weekend! I’m off to see my Artist Way gals and drink some coffee…

I watched this yesterday. Woke in the middle of the night still thinking about it.

    Even if you aren’t a Jim Carrey fan, it’s thought-provoking – pun intended. ;)

I’ve been thinking a lot about the possibility of having more than one “vocation” in life. So many people tell you that you have to focus, have to choose, and I find myself wondering just exactly how true that is. I’m pretty sure it’s not true at all, and it’s pretty exciting to consider the possibilities if it isn’t! Thanks for the links.
